Terries
Terries squares are the most traditional of the cloth nappies and by far the most economic, but now with a much more modern style. You can get them in different colours and sizes and because of their looped fabric it works well if they are held in place by a nappy nippa. A recent development is the launch of the bamboo terry - a more sustainable fabric.
They need to be folded, but there are folds to suit everyone and every baby and it is not as tricky as you might think with some practice! For more detailed instructions, see the Babycentre's slideshow on folding a nappy.
Terries are an absorbent nappy yet quick drying and very versatile. They can be used as absorbency for pocket nappy and even dusters when you're finished with them!
You would put a liner inside and a wrap on to provide the waterproof layer to your nappy.
